How RiOSmart works
RiOSmart communicates directly with compatible televisions on your local network. It does not require a RiOSmart account and does not send your TV pairing credentials or remote-control activity to an external RiOSmart server.
Information kept on your device
The app stores saved television names, local IP and MAC addresses, connection preferences and recently used TV apps on your phone. Pairing client keys and television certificate fingerprints are kept in secure device storage.
Media you choose to share
When you choose a photo, video or audio file to share, RiOSmart makes that file temporarily available to the selected television on your local network while the app remains open. RiOSmart does not upload the file to the developer or an external cloud service.
Data collection and sharing
RiOSmart contains no advertising, analytics, tracking SDK or user account system. We do not sell personal information. Local network communication is used to discover, pair with and control your television.
Permissions
RiOSmart uses network permissions to discover and communicate with televisions on the same network. When you choose media to share, the operating system file picker provides access only to the file you select. The current app does not request access to contacts, location or the microphone.
Security
Secure webOS connections use TLS and remember the television certificate after initial pairing. Pairing credentials remain on the phone. An optional legacy connection mode may use an unencrypted local connection for older televisions and must be enabled explicitly by the user.
Your choices and deletion
You can remove a saved television and its pairing credentials from Manage TVs at any time. Uninstalling RiOSmart removes its locally stored application data. The television may retain its own record of paired remote applications until you remove it from the TV settings. See the data deletion instructions.
Children
RiOSmart is a general household utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated with a new effective date before the relevant release is published.
